About Me:: Hello . . . I'm a fiber artist specializing in traditional and modern felt making techniques. I have a bachelor of fine art degree in graphic arts and also work as a freelance designer occasionally. My day job is teaching college level graphic arts courses for a local college which I really enjoy, but my artistic passions are fiber arts and felt making among many other crafty endeavors.

I create funky hand felted items with wool and other exotic animal fibers such as alpaca and angora. My felted items are a wide range of wearable and functional art including hats, scarves, purses, jewelry, brooches, hair accessories, ACEO's, and some handmade fiber supplies.

My items are not woven, or knitted, with a spun yarn before the fulling, or shrinking process, but rather, they are created directly from the raw wool fibers. This is accomplished through wet felting, the earliest form of felt making, or through needle felting, a more modern technique.

The Funky Felter is sponsoring a giveaway contest at PoshMama.com! It is your chance to win a set of felted hearts (ring, pendant, and hairpins)!

Capitolagirl on Etsy contacted me last week to be a giveaway sponsor for a site that she moderates and writes for called PoshMama. I thought it would be a great way to introduce myself to the PoshMama community so I was happy to fulfill her request. The giveaway item is a felted heart set. It is a complete jewelry set of turquoise needle felted hearts. You can see them in the photo above.
