Craft Boutiques

This past weekend was my first craft boutique for the winter holidays. I've been doing craft boutiques for over 15 years and for the past 10 years, my cousin and I have been doing them together.

Boutique season is always fun for me. Lots of work, tiring but fun too. There you get a chance to see your items displayed amidst other vendor's items and best of all, you see the customers' reaction to your work. Will they ooh and ahh or will they walk right by without so much as a glance?…

I opened my Etsy store on September 15, 2007. Before that, it was basically craft boutiques in the spring and during the christmas holidays. I heard of Etsy from one of the scrapbook message boards that I frequented.

The day I opened, I was working on some projects for my upcoming boutique. I decided to take a break and surf online. I wound up on Etsy and before I knew it, I was opening a store and searching for a store name.

I can't remember how I came up with the name Papersil…
