A Little About Me!

Welcome to Out on a Whim studio...where the past meets the present! I am an Altered Artist, Junker, Vice President of our private ambulance service, Mom of 4 boys (20, 18, 16 and 9) and wife, not necessarily in that order! I began creating as a child, and have done Primitive painting, sewing, and stitchery, and my current obsession, altered art! We have been blessed as well, mom was visiting here over long 4th weekend, but woke Sunday just after going to bed with terrible pressure on her chest. I called 911 and was in the ER all night long till in the morning they put her in a Telematry room. She's home safe and sound now having passed the stress test...it was excess fluid around the heart...we re praising the Lord as mom is 90 yrs old. Have a great weekend hon!!! blessings, Bevie

I'd love to swap stories about all the miracles in my life before, during and after raising my children! To share one, Missy is my youngest, 32 this past Monday. She was dxd with a rare muscle disease at 1 but they were never able to give her a prognosis...the drs said she'd be in a wheelchair by 9...well this very strong girl didn't listen...sure it was difficult having to rush her to Children's once or twice a week, or call rescue when she'd stop breathing...learned CPR and had to use it! Doing Chest PT and suctioning was a daily habit... Today, she lives in a little apt subsidized by Medicare...works several hrs a week for a dr. And even drives her own care...no wheelchair for her!!! Because she has no cross striations in any muscle fibril...her heart is affected...walking is difficult but she's learned her limits...something I had to learn from her. I always said God gave her to me to teach me patience, and to slow me down. lol Have a great day dear friend...Bevie

At 9:06am on June 24th, 2008, Beverly A Sams said…: I"m actually doing better since being put on Lyria...but not sure it's the ACAI berry juice I am taking and/or the Vitamin D which I was so low in it didn't even register....I wonder how many of us are deficient in it?? God has given me so many abilities to do different things...most important to me is sharing my love for HIM!! I know we all have disabilities in one way or another, but it's how we go thru those trials that speaks volumns wouldn't you agree?? Now, I'm gonna tell that you are sleeping with the boss!!!! ehehehhe!!! Bevie
