About Me:
I have 3 happily married children and 9 of the most precious grandchildren that any nana could hope for! I'm single, homebound, computer illeterate (but trying to learn)! Can someone please explain to me what's a blog and a widget?

I have been sewing since I was old enough to hold a needle and crafting just about as long. I love making dolls for the kids and to sell, but I couldn't take a decent picture of my work if my life depended on it!

I've registered for an Etsy shop and am working on my listings today, hope to have some of them up later on today.

I'm a little grown-up shy....I spend a lot of time caring for my grandchildren and not a lot of time with the adult world, so I am looking forward to new friendships here on Etsy.

Oooh thanks for the comment! Yeah, it gets frustrating living on SS. I'm lucky in my living situation, my expenses are lower than my SS income so I have some left every month to do what I want with, from buying ad collecting ACEOs to building my studio to setting up websites and the costs of printing my book.

I do have one book in print right now. Search on "Raven Dance" at either Amazon or iUniverse.com by title and author -- Robert A. Sloan. It's a big fat doorstop sci fi thriller, actually two books in one when I do the rewrite. An evil totalitarian government is overthrown by rebels led by a vampire who helped found it when it was just the idealistic Utopia colony. Les Miserables, Dark Shadows, 1984, all sorts of things influenced it and especially music, since the sleeper remembers what music and culture and personal relationships meant before all that got repressed by the Utopian government. He brings culture back to people as well as freedom and its ideas. Loads of fun to write, and although I'm planning to do a rewrite, the first edition may become a collectible. I plan to buy some extras before I pull and rewrite it.

Welcome to the grand artistic collection of do it yourselfers, crafters, and people who have to be doing something with their hands or they're bored! Coolness! I read your bio and I was touched. It's cool how you sewed for so long.

I think I've probably been painting and drawing that long too, more or less, at least proportionally. I've got two grandchildren who are absolutely wonderful human beings, weirdly cool little kids, smart as it gets and so happy and energetic it boggles me. They're like kittens. They are all over the place at high speed and then get hit with nap attacks.

A blog is a free or cheap online journal that you can have just for signing up for it. Anything from a personal diary to a sales tool to your own personal editorial column, because everyone's got an Opinion and the world's entitled to it.

I'm actually a professional writer, but I throw great slabs of unedited rough draft rants onto my blog and readers seem to enjoy getting something that's about like serving up a bowl of cookie dough instead of putting it in the oven first to bake. Honest, the cookies are better, my books and articles are more focused, stay on topic and don't vary with what the weather's doing to my arthritis.

I'm a disabled middle aged male science fiction writer who paints and draws for hobbies, but likes having self supporting hobbies since I live on a limited income. I will eventually reach full time writing and leave behind my day job as cripple.

Widgets are these little paste in things like the "Etsy Mini" you can copy and paste from a link at Etsy. It sets up this bit of HTML coding that displays as a group of four to twenty thumbnails of your items, prioritized by how you prioritize them in your Etsy store. Many of these things you can figure out on the sites if they're user friendly. Etsy definitely is.

My son in law is on Etsy too, he's AesirTile and does mosaic tile art. He's got a set of four Celtic Knotwork coasters up that rocks. He used to do tiling as part of student housing maintenance at a university, so he learned the tile techniques long before he applied them to art. His workmanship is great and his design sense is brilliant.

Good morning girls, just stopped in to say I'm finally back. I've been "Way Down Under the Weather" lol!!! I'm recovering from a shoulder injury and still moving pretty slow, but I haven't stopped kickin' yet! I didn't mean to ignore you all...it's just been a real struggle.

Thank you for all the wonderful comments...I do apologize for not getting back to you all. I'll try to spend more time as I am able to get around more.

Have a great day!

Hi and welcome to etsy. I'm in pretty much the same position as you. At the moment I'm stuck at home with a trapped nerve in my spine. I can answer your question about what a blog is, it's like an online diary, but as for a widget, goodness only knows! Your photographs look fine to me. Mine can be a nightmare - I keep chopping of heads and ears and things. I'm sure you will make some great friends on here, everybody is so nice and kind.
