About Me:

I have been making jewelry since 2003 and selling it locally in Austin. During this time I have developed my unique MotsDots™ style and my sources for materials. I love making whimsical, bright, and colorful jewelry, mostly in glass beads. I also love the tactile beauty of handcrafted, natural and ethnic beads. I want to be the Terrell Powell of jewelry. (Google him sometime.)

I also teach art classes for young children. I want them to learn to let themselves go in their creativity, enjoying arts and crafts in their family as I have. I am a mother of two girls, one in high school and one in middle school. My husband helps me operate my business (especially the high tech parts) and works with homeless youth. Most of the proceeds from this shop go to support his participation in ministry.

The First 30 Days on ETSY

Wow! It has been a whirlwind ride on the Etsy Express! So much to learn and so much to do. But my new shop has been a tremendous hit! I can't believe how well it has done. Here are the stats: 700 items have been viewed as of today. I have posted a total of 43 items and sold 14 of them! I have been hearted by 52 different artists and buyers! Up and running

After 10 days, I have been running myself ragged getting my ETSY shop online. There are so many helpful sites that give step by step instructions for how to do this, but it's just overwhelming sometimes. However, the thrill of making the sales is worth it! Now I'm just learning how to promote my site, improve my photographs. I'm wondering how effective coupons and "sales" are? What really starts to drive sales? Ideas anyone?
