My name is Kathy (Kat) I live in Northern Illinois with my husband of 23 years and have 2 children. Courtney 22 and Ryan 18...I only have one of my 2 children left in the nest! WooHoo! Courtney has moved out and has been on her own for almost a year now and today...July 2nd, she will give birth to my 1st grandchild.
I love to sew and create things of course...but I also love to garden and can vegetables for winter use. There is nothing like a pot of homemade vegetable soup in the dead of winter made fresh from fall harvest! YUMMMM!! I have probably been sewing for 15 years and have came a LONG way since the days of the floppy eared bunnies that were so popular many years ago...I look back on some of the items I've created and wonder, "What was I thinking?" We learn as we go. I have been on Etsy for about 8 months...I believe I was here before I decided to do the big auction site...I love Etsy!! And now that I have discovered We Love Etsy thru a group on another site...I will be here and attempt to keep up with this as well!!
I have attempted alot in my efforts as a crafter...I owned a craft consignment shop with a dear friend back in the late 90's, made my own patterns to designs and sold them thru Country Marketplace Magazine and advertised in Better Homes and Gardens Crafters Showplace...both of these wonderful magazines are no longer in existance...sad, but true. I had a sales rep for about a year, who would take my items to show and take orders from across the US for me....part of the cottage craft industry...but she moved away and I never searched for another. Once I purchased a computer...not but a year ago...we are a little slow with the times here...I found Etsy from creative people on MySpace...and jumped in head first!! I would love to find someone who has a craft consignment shop to ship to and sell thru. That would be wonderful! Or someone who would buy wholesale!!
If you have made it this far through my ramblings about myself...I give you credit!! Hahahaha! Thanks for reading!
