I started making jewelry roughly 3 years ago. . . technicaly.
The truth is I have been messing with jewelry making nearly all of my life. My Dad moved to the Unites States, from Puerto Rico when he was only 18, his first job (and still his current) was running a costume jewelry factory. Seriously he still does it and he is like 52 years old now. Anyways, I remember when I was about 4 or 5 my Dad used to take my sister and I to the factory with him when there was no one to babysit and since my mom worked there as well, my sister and I had no choice. We didnt know it then, but those little weekend work trips with Dad would eventualy shape our creativity and mold our inspirational eye.
Now I am 26, have a degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising and currently run a shop on etsy called PunkPussyCature. . . which brings me back to my first story.
I started PunkPussyCature 3 years ago under the name PunkPussyCat. I found lots of inspiration in everyday things when designing for women, but that became a bit frustrating because I could not wear my own creations, and who better to sell a product than the person whos hands created it. My sister and I began showing our collection at the young designers market here in New York and were doing quite well, it was a great way for our customers to interact with us. they got a thrill from buying jewelry pieces straight from the designer himself.
When things got a bit hectic, because I was also working as a Technical Designer for Gloria Vanderbilt in NY at the time, we decided to take a break from doing the shows to refuel on energy. I was totally down for the R&R, of course as a designer all I did with my free time to relax was design some more.
One evening I was preparing my clothing for work the next day when I began to feel that frustration that often came over me when deciding how to accessorize my wardrobe (yes ladies, us guys do take the time to figure out how we are going to look each and every day, even when we rock that "just out of bed" look, trust me, it was a pre-meditated occurance) So I went to my design room room (from lack of finding anything worth wearing in the very few stores that actualy carry men's armour) and began pulling anything and everything that caught my attention. I sat in that room and designed my first 8 piece mens collection. Designing for men just comes naturaly to me, I take an edgy approach witha classic wearability. And so CitySoldier was born. . .
I like your work, it's hard to find nice jewelry for men who love to wear it! I'm going to be inspired now to try my hand at creating some great pieces for the masculine side of our planet! Keep up the great designs. Shelley

Thanks for friending us back and for the very kind words about our photos. We've been told that our images have a transporting type of quality for the viewer and that's a high compliment indeed as that's what we strive for in shooting them.
So many of these old albums have great photos on them. I can't imagine the dollars spent on the photo shots for them. It's really a piece of history.

Okay, so I'm an idiot, or at least maybe I should have been asleep instead of surfing this site. Anyway, when I went back to look at your stuff more closely, I discovered I couldn't find the jewelry I remembered nor the rock boxes. In fact I'm clueless who is selling that stuff. So I now that I have really looked at your jewelry I'll comment on your stuff. It is awesome! I like the creative use of your titles, they are so right on to describe you very unique men's jewelry. I'm going to have to keep an eye on your work, might have found something to get for my son!?!?
