Pinewoods in Blue, Plein Air pastel drawing

Last summer I did a series of plein air sketches in Northern Germany, where I grew up. Some of them, done one sunny July morning are now available in my shop.

They are done on Mei Teintes paper (16x12") with soft pastels - I find soft pastels, in particular the very soft ones like Unison to be one of the best outdoor medium: luminous, immediate and no need for water or turps.

New fine art reproductions of my paintings

Getting going with my new year plans, I have begun to add my various bits and pieces to my etsy shop at http://gesah.etsy.com.

Autumn skies - small original pastel paintings

After too much rain earlier on today, the sky cleared up and we had some beautiful sunshine. Enough so that I took out my pastels and did a couple small sky paintings - I've just listed these these as part of the VASTautumnevent.
