When I was making mostly baby and children items, I spent hours looking at patterns and craft books. NOw that I have slimmed down my shop to focus on camera accessories, my ideas come mostly from daughter who is professional photographer.
I think, since artists are such visual people, we probably get our ideas from tons of different sources. Some of which we don't even realize, until they come to us in our dreams. I love looking at what others have done, and at the work of all the ...
Sometimes it's both for me, too. I get a lot of inspiration just from browsing in Micheal's or JoAnn's. Sometimes ideas just come to me and sometimes I am brain dead.
I'm like Lonesome, my ideas come from everything and everywhere. Maybe I'll see an outfit in a window at the mall and design something with that color scheme. Believe it or not, a lot of my designs come to me in my dreams!
