- I have been painting portraits, mostly for my own pleasure and for friends, for over 15 years. I have studied painting, drawing, and sculpting the face and figure at such institutions as the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Montserrat School of Art, and the Art Students League of NY. I have also participated in the master classes of portrait artists Daniel Greene and Constance Flavell Pratt. I have developed quite a collection of paintings, and they are crowding me out of my apartment! So I am looking to sell off some of my finished paintings, as well as working on commissioned portraits.
For the past few years I have studied and worked in the field of set design for theatre, but recently have turned back to my first love, painting. Faces and figures have an endless fascination for me, and I love being able to capture someone's character on canvas!
You can see examples of my work and style at my online gallery. I will work with you to develop a painting of your loved one that you love - you will receive emailed images every few days so I can be sure that we are on the same page, and that you are happy with the way the painting is shaping up.
As for subject, while I specialize in people and animals, I will paint you a portrait of anything you'd like - from houses to parrots to cars!
I require a non-refundable deposit of 1/4th the price of the completed painting. Please contact me for rates and references. Portraits are unframed. I work in oils, watercolor, and charcoal. I always use the highest-quality materials, from paints to paper and canvas.
