Hey guys,

Thanks for stopping by my profile. My name is Luis Rodriguez and I'm a jewelry designer. Check out my shop on etsy: www.lourocdesigns.etsy.com

I live in New Jersey, and work in the city as a technical designer in the fashion industry.
I have been making jewelry since I was like 5 (seriously), my dad owned his own custom jewelry factory and when I was a kid he used to take me to work with him on the weekends. I remember always taking scraps that I found around the factory and piecing a bunch of things together and calling it jewelry. My dad of course was so great, he would always encourage me. He would solder the pieces together for me, add tiny hoops, so that I can string up my piece, and make a necklace out of it.
So needless to say as I sat there for years on the weekends I watched my dad at work and absorbed all that I could.

I didnt know it then, but I would eventualy grow up and make a career in the business of fashion and designing. . .

In 2004 I got my degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising in NYC. After that I had a string of rinky jobs as I tried to get my foot into the industry. Eventually I did by an unexpected chance, and I have been working in the industry as a technical designer ever since.

"Technical designer" is a fancy term for someone obsessed with quality and construction. . . so needless to say I put the same amount of effort in my work.
