The pic is me with 2 yr old son Adam in Australia last July (07).
For anyone who is waiting to see what I will be creating for Etsy (hopefully you haven't given up on me since it's taken so long)- good news, I'm finally getting set up. I must say, the sun and warm weather here in Belgium is really helping to inspire and energize me. This week we are going to see the tulips in Holland. I love flowers and can't wait to 'inhale' the beauty of zillions of gorgeous tulips. I'll get pics and post them. Hope everyone is happy, heathy and creating wonderful things! TTFN (ta ta for now) and more soon.
PS- little Adam is about to turn 3! He's definitely a character!
Former post:
Obsessively creative is the first thing that comes to mind when describing myself. I also love to help spread my creative passion/addiction by teaching others. It's fantastic to make something amazing with your own hands. My mission is simple 'Inspire and be inspired'. I'd like to think I've helped inspire formerly non-creative women (some who have stressful careers) to unleash their inner-artist. I firmly believe we ALL have an inner-artist, just some folks take a while to realize it or simply don't know how to go about it. When I was teaching for nearly ten years at G-St Fabrics, former and repeat students would tell me how taking my classes had changed their lives (for the better ;) Some had gone on to start businesses and some simply enjoyed their creative hobbies. I don't know any other way but to be creative. It's the core of who I am and who I'll become. Some of you may be thinking 'I don't have time to make things' but when you find something you love doing, you will find the time to fit it in somehow. When I was a single mom, I had to find a way to take what I loved doing and make money from it. I would take custom orders, sell through shops, partake in craft fairs and then I began teaching others how to do what I did. This was gratifying in so many ways but besides a way to support my passion for being creative, I was able to financially support my two daughters and myself. Teaching and being creative makes me happy and a happy person attracts other happy people- this why the timing was so important when 'the one' literally walked into my life. I'm now happily married to a great guy who is wonderfully supportive and encouraging regarding my creative endeavors. Well, this novel will have to continue later. Ta ta for now to all you creative women out there- never give up on your dreams- they can and often do come true! My quote: "Being creative helps me forget about growing older as I go through life leaving pieces of my heart and soul behind" ~Deb aka Kiwi Jane PS- I LOVE ETSY!!

I said I would be back when I had some news about Creative Cafe and here it is:
Creative Cafe is a site I have been developing which is for everything creative members can do. There is also a linked salesrooms site for people to buy and sell their creations. We are not opening until November but I am inviting some people early so we can iron out any hiccups and make the place lively. I hope you will feel like joining us and here is the link:

Hi everyone! Thanks so much for all the kind words and well wishes. I am going through a rough time and this is really helping. Seems we will have to go to Belgium without our beautiful Lilly (11 yr old daughter). It's a long story- has to do with the blatant lack of justice in this country. Well I don't wish to be a kill joy. The good news is that there folks like all of you in this world. Talented, caring people who take the time to make others happy by jotting down a few kind words on a site like this. I wish I could have you all together so we could meet face to face, hug each other, share stories, brag about all our various talents and best of all, laugh. Without ever meeting any of you in person, I truly feel like you are my friends and I cherish each and every one of you. Deb
How exciting to move overseas! I've been to Belgium and it's a great country ,I'm sure you'll love it...and yes I did have a Belgium waffle while I was there and it was yummy!
