Hello and welcome to DeShawn Marie Handmade Soap. I've been making handmade soaps, candles, oils, gifts and favors for over 12 years now. It is my full time job and I love it, I can't imagine doing anything else. I've traveled near and far to collect inspiration and ingredients for my delicious creations. I enjoy traveling to exotic places with different cultures to gather new ideas for my soaps. I am inspired by food, chocolates, candy, pastries, agriculture, colors and textures from other cultures. I have always had an attraction to nature, herbs, chemistry, travel and design. When I discovered candle and soap making it felt very natural to me. I became obsessed with coming up with new designs and recipes. I think of my creations as exotic goodies made from the worlds natural ingredients. I'm just the one that came up with the special recipe ;)
It's possible that you may have seen some of my work at some point over the years as I have displayed my candles & soaps in over 50 stores & galleries across the USA and Europe. They have been featured in Broadway plays, as gifts for attendees to events presented by Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Pulitzer Prize winner John Patrick Shanley, Jeremy Shockey's home, New Jersey Monthly, The Jersey Journal, The Current, the Hoboken and Union City reporters to mention a few. Although I have had many successes it is always a struggle to be in business for myself. By designing my own products it gives me the ability to create very unique one of a kind corporate gifts, wedding, party and special event favors that you can't get anywhere else. I love what I do and I think it shows in my work. If you have any questions at all please feel free to contact me. I hope you love my creations as much as I do. Your support is greatly appreciated.
