I am Emily, the artist behind Candy Calamity. I love making trashion jewelry and décor such as bracelets made from candy wrappers and magnets made from fused plastic shopping bags formed into flowers.
What is Trashion?
Trashion stems from the combined philosophies of environmentalism and innovation. Nearly all Candy Calamity pieces contain some form of recycled, re-used, or found elements. Bringing new life to what would have otherwise been unwanted or thrown away is a big part of the trashion appeal. Use of unconventional materials in my work ensures that each piece is intrinsically distinct and has its own unique flavor.
