About Me:: University of Wyoming 1983 - a degree in Fine Arts

Full-time artist living in a rickety old farm house on the edge of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I have a technology-obsessed husband and a very busy teenager. And two cats - that I am allergic to.

In February, 2007 I broke my ankle (slipped on a patch of ice) and was laid up for 2 solid months - and in my boredom I found ArtWanted.com which was fun -- but I noticed that not many sales were taking place. Someone there told me about etsy so I checked it out - set up shop and a mere FOUR months later, made my first sale. LOVE etsy!

February 2008 I tried to join Etsy Artists of Color but found out that I am the WRONG color. So I decided to start a BLUE GROUP for any etsy shop with the word 'blue' in the title. Skin color is a random reason for a group so why not shop title? As it turns out -- BLUES are awesome people!

I'm BACK

We got back from "vacation" at 2:30AM last night --- and awesome parents that we are, stopped at the store for milk, meat and cream for our coffee (okay - that's selfish). Then fell into our respective beds. Whew! nice to get home after more than 15 hours in the car. Pricing anxiety

Looking around etsy (I spend an excessive amount of time doing this!!) I am seeing a lot of PRINTS that are $20 and here I am selling original work for $12. Am I nuts? Yea, I guess so because I'm only raising prices of my bookGoddesses to $15 on May 1 and not $20 --- which seems too large a jump. I can increase prices because etsy is now set up so that people cannot see what things sold for. SPRING CLeaning

I thought I was over that last cold - as it's been more than a week and I'm almost done with the coughing --- but another virus seems to be worming its way through my head. I'm feeling so foggy and vague and tired. What a thrill then when my husband got involved this afternoon as I began to clear out the food cabinet at one end of the kichen.
