Teacher Totes

I'm SO happy to finally be listing these things in my Etsy shop! I have been developing them for weeks. I have gone through different kinds of canvas, interfacings, sewing needles and threads to find the most durable I could use without buying an industrial machine. I even sewed my finger while working on them. (I don't recommend that by the way. I had to use pliers to pull the needle out. Ouch!) I just got 2 up online and I think I'm done for the day. Beach Bag

I had the pleasure to make a beach bag for a great customer today. She wanted a laminated cotton for the interior so anything wet or sandy could be easily cleaned up. This was my first time using the laminated stuff and I have to say it was a pain at first. But once I got the hang of it and came to terms with not being able to press it every 2 seconds it wasn't so bad. I think the bag turned out great! I might consider making some more for my shop. Patterns...

My sister bought an Amy Butler bag pattern and I offered to make it for her since she doesn't sew. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was since I usually have a hard time with other people's patterns. I prefer my own, of course. It was the birdie sling and I think it turned out pretty well. I'd love to hear if anyone has tried her other patterns and if they are just as easy.

This fabric was at C&B

I can't believe it. I went into Crate & Barrel and saw this Marimekko tree fabric everywhere. I made a custom bag in May out of the exact same fabric. At the time it was the most expensive bag I had made because the fabric is $42/yd. When I got the request to make a bag from Marimekko I was so excited! It's not like I can go buy tons of it myself.
