About Me:

Hello! My name is Linda Walsh and I am a doll maker and doll pattern designer.

I thought you might like to see a picture of who I am, but as you can tell from the picture above I always have to be different.

Now, I know what you're going to say. You're going to tell me that that isn't a picture of you, Linda! Well, you're right! It's a picture of "The Little Victorian Girl" that has become my Linda Walsh Originals mascot and logo.

So, why am I showing that as a picture representing me? For a really good reason - SURVIVAL!!!!!!

You see, I live in a house filled with over 1,796 handmade dolls and, they rule everything.

Albeit, I created all of them and they aren't human. But, that doesn't matter to them. They out vote me just by sheer numbers.

So, to keep peace in "The Dollie Storage Room", which is where they live - over the garage, I had to make the picture that represents all of us "The Little Victorian Girl."

We, that is, all the dolls and I, are the owners of Linda Walsh Originals which sells "Doll Patterns For Grown-up Girls!", Linda Walsh Originals E-Patterns which sells "Instant Download E-Patterns For Grown-up Girls!", Linda Walsh Originals Dolls which sells "Handmade Dolls & Crafts For Grown-up Girls!", and my BRAND NEW Linda Walsh Originals Dolls - Handmade Dolls & Crafts Website.

And, we have two bookstores - one all about dolls called Linda's Doll Bookstore for Books on Dolls and Doll Making and the other all about crafts called Linda's Crafts Bookstore for Books About Crafts and Crafting.

They're filled to the brim with books. So, if you love books, dolls, and crafts you're going to love our bookstores.

Plus, we just created a BRAND NEW "Gray Is Beautiful Products" store for selling our "Gray Is Beautiful" line of products. They are products geared towards all the baby boomers, senior citizens, and women with gray and white hair. The"Grays" are "Proud to be Gray" and don't mind telling you so. They are in charge and have been working really hard on their brand new store.

The "dollie's" and I also write a monthly column called "Tips From The Blogging Queen" for the Faithful Friends Online Monthly Newsletter and have a "Tips From The Blogging Queen" blog containing all my columns and other FREE articles I have written.

We also have a monthly sewing club entitled "Linda's Twelve Months of Sewing Club" that offers everyone a chance to get some of my Linda Walsh Originals E-Patterns for FREE. If you'd like to know more please visit our "Linda's Twelve Months of Sewing Club" blog.

If all that isn't enough we also have "a zillion blogs"which we also write for. Needless to say we do a lot of writing. Our blogs are as follows:

Tips For Crafters On The Web Blog Testing The Blogs Series and Helpful Blog Tips Blog
The Best FREE Craft Articles
The Book Review Corner
Tips From The Blogging Queen
The D0llie Storage Room Blog

Plus, we have a wonderful blog to go with our two bookstores called "The Book Review Corner." I have an extensive collection of books on dolls and crafts that I have acquired over the years and thought it would be fun to review some of the books in my collections, as well as other books concerning dolls and crafts. It's a great blog to visit.

We actually have seven other blogs, but, you get the idea.

We do have a "zillion" blogs.

Why so many, you might wonder?

Well, the dolls just love to see their names in print.

We also have two other blogs which are actually plugboard blogs. They were created to help give the small business crafter on the web a place to plug their website for FREE. They are:

Dollie and Crafts Plugboard

Crafting For All Plugboard

We also have a toplist entitled "Top Blogs By Crafters" that we started to showcase some of the best blogs by crafters on the Internet.

You see, I like to do as much as a I can to help showcase "artists & crafters" on the net.

Why?

For a couple of reasons.

First, the arts & crafts community on the net is one of the best communities out there. Everyone is always so willing to help everyone else out.

Secondly, everyone is so skilled and so creative that I like to showcase their talent as much as I can. So, wherever I can I try to promote all the artists and crafters on the net.

And last but not least, I need something to write about in all those blogs besides "dolls" - don't I?

I Finally Opened An Etsy Shoppe

I've been having a battle with myself for over a year now as to whether I should open an Etsy shop or just sell some of my handmade dolls & crafts on eBay. There seems to be many pro's and cons for each.

I like the fact that Etsy is mainly for selling handmade items by artists and crafters and sale price is based upon the quality of handmade goods. However, eBay is like the hundred pound gorilla in the room as to audience share, but prices are reflective of customers wanting a dea…

Hi Linda
I agree that Etsy is where the crafters are- I've had a store for about a year now and have sold only three items, but that hasn't deterred me from adding more items. I look at it as more social networking and free advertising.
eBay may get more lookers, but that's only a guess on my part. I've done okay on there, had my store for about three years now. You are right about people wanting good deals, but that's only human nature.
I list my item's starting prices at the very least I would accept for them. In the past, I listed for less, in the hopes of getting several bids bringing the price up...but that doesn't always work out. You end up 'giving away' your craft that you worked so hard on.
Yes, I've been busy. I'm involved in an Easter swap - which should have gone out today but I wasn't feeling well and never made it to the post office, so it will go out tomorrow. I'm busy making some mini prim sunflower fillers for my shoppes, and I promised Jordyn ( grandaughter) that I would make her another raggedy doll - which means I must make one for Jonah and Ayden too, lol - can't leave them out!
How about you??

Hi, Neenee:

I finally had a chance to respond to your comment. Not yet, but I'm thinking about setting one up. Hey, I have so many websites now I might as well have an Etsy one, too. Right! LOL LOL Actually I've been considering Etsy versus say eBay or some other auction website and it seems like Etsy is where more of the artists and crafters are. I've also heard comments that eBay buyers all want a deal and that's hard to do when you're a crafter with a small profit margin anyway. What's your experience on eBay?

How have you been? Busy as all get out?
