I'm back from my vacation. Wow. Isn't it funny how you need a few days to recover from a vacation? We were on a cruise and visited 8 islands in the Caribbean in 8 days. Whew!

We saw some awesome things! My favorite would have to be the mahogany carving in Barbabos. There is an amazing artist there who carves the root of mahogany trees with a rotary sander. He uses the sander to get the piece into a rough shape and then the rest is done by hand with sand paper and other tools. He had so… Continue

I finally have my shop open and some items listed. I was afraid, but I am feeling much better now. I will keep my fingers crossed and keep working on some of my other items.

I have just discovered Etsy and am awestruck by the amount of artistic talent I have seen. I was considering opening my own store. I sew and do machine embroidery. But, I am quite intimidated by what I have seen when exploring this community and the Etsy.com site. I know that I will definitely be buying on Etsy very soon. The jewelry and art I have seen is incredible. I have a step-daughter graduating high school and will want to buy something very special for her.
