Questions for the Community

Hi everyone! Thank you all for joining! The response to this site has been amazing - more than 150 people signed up in the first 24 hours! I have a couple questions about site features and I'd love to get some feedback.

First, do you want more profile fields (these are the things like your website and your Flickr, that display on the sidebar of your page. If there are other fields you'd like me to add (other links, favorite music, etc), please let me know!

Second, does anyone else find the ads by google on the right sidebar to be annoying? I might be able to switch us over to sponsored advertising (banner ads). What do you guys think about that?

I actually like everything the way it is, though I wouldn't be opposed to changes. As long as everything was optional, I don't see why not to add the other fields!

more profile fields sound great - something that connectes to my personal website, I love photos - I do find the side ads annoying - but space at the top takes up more viewing space - people have to scroll and I'm a point and click girl myself.

Hi Lis,
I think the site is awesome! You have done an amazing job! It would be great for more fields to add things like my web site and myspace link things like that. As far as the Google adds, they are a bit annoying, but nothing I can't live with.

I am still feeling hypnotised with the site, can't see or think of anything bad, I am cool with the google ads, it doesn't bother me at all.

BTW you can add html into the sidebar profile to give clickable links (see my profile for an example).

Personally, I love the new bidding system for Etsy 125x125 banner ads. Infact, I'm working to place one myself. This will be the first advertising I've purchased, I'm very satisfied so far. I wouldn't mind if there were a few more, smaller (less expensive if the site gets big) further down either.

As long as you manage to weed out nonEtsians that want to bid, I think it's great.

As far as profile fields.. Please include a website option!.
Some of us have both Etsy shops, blogs, flickrs and websites we'd love to display. :D

Hey, Lis. Until I get off this annoying but cheap dial-up, almost any ads will anooy me because they cause me to load sooooo slowwwwlllyyyyy.
Is there a way to delete photos on our pages, by the by? I duplicated one.

I'm not sure if this is the proper place for me to place this comment/question so please forgive me if I am misplacing ....but... (there's always a but) ...

Would someone please define for the community the two words "Blog" and "Ad". I don't think they're the same.

Perhaps we need a separate section for shopkeepers to place ads?

YES, to favorites (music, movies, food) on our profile sidebars. It's a great way to get to know each other and is a sorely absent feature on Etsy,
Keep up the great work and thanks for this new venue to communicate with each other.

Hi there, new to this blog type stuff. Got a question..2 actually.....when I list a pic, it says that 'me' listed it instead of Cheryl Avenue. How do I change this?? Also, I would like my banner from Etsy on top of this page. I have some others do it. I just cant figure it out! Any help would be appreciated. Oh and of course. I love this place. Thanks Lis.
