I love Etsy... anything I need, I just look around and find it on here. For example, my car doesnt have cupholders or any storage space to put cellphone, ipod, etc.... so I was like "Wouldnt it be nice if there were some sort of bag that clips to your vents?"... lo and behold: The Car Catch All
Next, my husband is really into kung fu.... they have a cool logo of the "bow", and I thought it would be the sweetest Christmas gift EVER to give him custom cuff links with his kung fu logo on them... and so I found them from Bellamodaartist and they were PERFECT!
One more... my mother in law loves heart-shaped rocks and seaglass, etc. She was actually the inspiration for the name of my shop, Heart of Nature. Anyway, I thought it would be an amazing gift to give her a necklace made out of a heartshaped piece of seaglass. I looked around, couldn't find anything just right, so I sent a convo to Oceano. She sent me a series of images to choose from and made a WONDERFUL necklace out of a heart shaped piece of light blue seaglass. My mother in law LOVED it and once again, Etsy won the day.
I have bought 2 items on etsy, and i can't wait to get a couple unique gifts that i have found, it's funny I would have never seen anything like this anywhere but here, Etsy has opened me up to some really diverse art.
Well so far I've bought mostly smelly things lol !
My most favored shop/seller is Ficklefaerie. She makes the most wonderful soy wax melts !!!!!!! The scents are WONDERFUL and last so long. I told her that they've even helped me with my weightloss challenge ( there's an Etsy Biggest Loser challenge going on right now ), I just light up one of the more candy-like smelling tarts and the scent seems to help cure the sweet craving yay !
I can't tell you what scents are my fav., too many :) I actually prefer her items over Partylite ( gasp ! ).
Right now I'm awaiting the Mojito Raspberry and Mint artisan tea tarts and Amaretto Cherry with Black Tea artisan tea tarts.

Today I just bought some handmade earwires from Duet Supplies. She has nice sturdy handmade ear wires.(I have gotten some from her before through another venue)
I have purchased about 60 items from 36 different vendors. I did most of my Christmas shopping at the site. Here are a few of my favorite purchases at the site. (What follows are the feedback comments I left for the vendors as well as links to the items.)

LISA HURWITZ: Lovely print of original painting done by this lovely etsy vendor. Her art perfectly captures the many emotions of womanhood, motherhood, and girlhood -- or at least they did for me. I had the delightful experience of corresponding with Lisa while we were completing our transaction and found her to be lovely, warm, and genuine -- the very qualities that come through in her art. Thanks for everything, Lisa -- and thanks, etsy, for everything you did to make my holiday shopping such a fabulous experience this year. (PS -- The "Lisa art" was my gift to me.) :-)

DEBBY AREM DESIGNS: This is another lovely item made by Debby -- an attractive keychain made from computer components. The ultimate upcycle, you'll have a hard time remembering that this piece of art was once something functional. The price is incredible for something this lovely.

CHASING LIGHTNING BUGS: This is much more than a quilt. It's a work of art that will also become one of the most treasured items in my home, both because of its intrinsic beauty, but also because I've had the pleasure to get to know the wonderful person who made it.
I have personally purchased many items on Etsy in the past 3 years. Here is a complete list of every seller that I have purchased from. I purchase all of my gifts from indie sellers (and I have two daughters).
This does not even begin to include the many many many Etsy sellers that have been featured in Wickedly Chic.
LOL...this is a long list...but at least we know that I put my money where my mouth is :)
There is PLENTY of potential in Etsy and wonderful & amazing items that you just can't find everywhere.
I am also hooked on buying things from Etsy! Just in the last while I bought a baby gift for my sister in law from doodlesprouts. It was the softest blanket ablong with 2 burp rags. http://doodlesprouts.etsy.com I just bought some wonderful checkbook covers from L & B accessories (http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5117576) And, I just bought some really pretty earrings from lil922! I love them! (http://www.lil922.etsy.com)
I will continue to look for gifts here at Etsy! Love it!
